Charles Bamford has been appointed as UK general manager for world leading quality management provider, G&P, as it enters the next phase of its ambitious growth plans supporting manufacturers across a wide range of industries.
Bamford brings with him more than 20 years’ senior level experience in the automotive industry working with some of the largest OEMs, together with Tier One and Two suppliers, throughout the UK, Europe and North America. He has a proven track record of delivering profitable growth and using his lean background to build high performing and culturally strong teams.
His appointment is one of the latest key initiatives instigated by the company, as it continues to develop the breadth and depth of its core automotive and aerospace divisions, while also diversifying into adjacent services and sectors.
Bamford said: “With significant OEM and supplier experience at a senior level, I understand the challenges associated with G&P’s customers’ processes and problems incredibly well. Building upon G&P’s excellent and well-established services, this alternative perspective means that we will be able to add even greater value and benefit to our clients, helping to drive our own business forward in the process.”
One of the key factors to G&P’s on-going and future success, is its market-leading proprietary technology, QTrak. Designed in-house to integrate seamlessly into its customers’ quality management systems, and associated supply chains worldwide, the bespoke and innovative system helps G&P and its clients across a wide range of industries to improve quality and efficiency levels.
Additionally, the company has recently expanded its high-end technical capabilities for OEMs to include final vehicle inspection on luxury and prestige marques prior to final sign-off, an area which Bamford is keen to expand upon.
Geoff Cousins, chairman at G&P and former managing director at Jaguar UK, commented: “Charles joins G&P at a momentous time in the company’s 26-year history.
“He will play an instrumental part in spearheading future growth for G&P across the UK, working closely with key manufacturers and associated supply chains.”
G&P itself was established in 1994 and has grown to have a global presence, now operating in more than 100 manufacturing facilities around the world.
To date, G&P has completed more than 110,000 quality management projects for its manufacturing customers and in one year alone its work helped its customers reduce their levels of waste by more than £2.5bn.
Moreover, G&P’s QTrak system gives it, and its customers, a competitive advantage as it provides real-time analysis and identification of quality issues, allowing problematic supply sources to be investigated without delay, parts contained and corrective action to be deployed to prevent further waste being produced.
G&P is also the proud winner of numerous awards, including the UK’s highest business accolade, a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
