Meet the team – Lorren Ward, Talent Acquisition Specialist

Lorren has a passion for putting the right people in the right job, whether they be permanent or contract for customers, or through her focus on internal talent succession as employees progress through their careers with G&P.

She has a unique perspective on potential employees of all backgrounds but leads on G&P’s pledge to the Armed Forces Covenant in 2018, a promise that those who have served in the nation’s forces will be treated fairly. Lorren understands the unique skills and experiences reservists and veterans can bring to G&P and its wide range of clients.

Having initially applied for an unrelated role with G&P nine years ago, a chance conversation with her hiring manager led to her stepping into the world of recruitment. Within that time, Lorren has developed a wealth of experience having worked both agency and internally, and most recently re-joining G&P as a Talent Acquisition Specialist. Lorren has recruited across a variety of industries and at all levels.

Lorren says, “I rejoined G&P as a Talent Acquisition Specialist nearly two years ago. The business and its people were a huge attraction for me. I love the variation in my role, and I genuinely feel like I’m valued, have a purpose, and am treated as an individual. I have recently been given the opportunity to develop my role further in G&P and focus on internal talent succession, employee wellbeing and learning and development, which are areas I am hugely passionate about”.

Lorren says that her role doesn’t end when an employee and client put pen to paper. “It’s my job to decrease attrition and grow business for G&P and our partners, so I make sure staff are valued and have a voice. It’s so important they have someone independent they can turn to,” she said.

And the highlight of Lorren’s days? “It’s when I’ve spoken to someone that’s really good,  who I think is perfect for a role, and I know I am able to add value to their career and they are able to add value to G&P,” she said. “The market is continuously evolving and at present, it is a candidate’s market, so it is more important than ever for candidates to really buy into G&P and have a good candidate experience. When you speak to someone that is really, really good and really buys into G&P and what they do, it gives you such a buzz.”
